My KleenSlate Obsession

 KleenSlate

Recently I was able to attend the ASCD 2016 Conference in Atlanta. There were so many fabulous sessions and I learned SO much. In between sessions, I was walking around looking at the exhibitor booths. That's when I found something that actual made me stop walking instead of avoiding eye contact with the person in the booth and quickening my pace.

This booth was called KleenSlate. They were offering hand held, customizable whiteboards. I love using white boards in my class for things such as reviews, quick responses, formative assessments, and more. Plus, let's face it, our kids really enjoy drawing with markers. The KleenSlate whiteboards seemed to take this to a whole new level.

I asked the guy at the booth, who I found out was named Joe, to tell me more. He told me that his mom Julia was a former teacher. She had been teaching for fourteen years and was tired of poor quality white boards and white board markers, so she created her own. This appealed to me even more.

The best thing about this whiteboard is that it can be customized. Not only an students write on the regular whiteboard side, but you can also use one of their graphic organizers and slip it inside the clear pocket. They have a ton that you can download for free here or once your figured out the size you could probably make your own.

One of the best parts of these boards is that the whiteboard marker and the rag can be attached directly to each whiteboard. We don't have to waste time passing out whiteboards and then the markers and then the erasers. It also saves space. The rag slips easily off the ring so you can wash them for reuse.

I was salivating over these whiteboards and knew that other teachers would love them as well. I asked if they would be willing to do a giveaway to my teacher friends. They said yes! KleenSlate is going to give away 3 sets of 12 whiteboards with double markers, microfiber cleaning cloths, and free downloads of all of their graphic organizers. This is a great deal. You can enter the giveaway below. I've given you four different ways to enter! That means you can have your name in the drawing up to four times!
